Steve Plowden - Hilton Head Resident And Realtor

  As a child on Hilton Head, Steve remembers quite a different place in 1977. "I thought I was the luckiest boy alive. There was very little development on the Island and very few people. I spent my days discovering new places by moped, building forts and pretending I was Huck Finn, fishing and setting traps. I made money by fishing for sand dollars and starfish in the ocean and diving for golf balls in the lagoons. I would sell them to the Harbour Town Golf Shop and the General Store on South Forest Beach."

  The Plowden family's roots in South Carolina are deep. Steve's grandfather several generations back was General William Moultrie, the first governor of South Carolina. Fort Moultrie is so named due to his successful defense of Sullivan's Island in the Revolutionary War. He is also credited with establishing the South Carolina state flag.

  Steve married Lisa Brownfield in 1996 and now she's involved in the "family business" as Steve's very qualified business manager and licensed sales assistant. Steve and Lisa have two children, Jesse 7 and Cassidy 5. As you can see, when we are not showing off our island to customers, you can usually find us at the beach!
